English Language Clinic for SEAMEO RECSAM Indonesian Teachers Print

Internexia (Penang) conducted an English Language Clinic for SEAMEO participants attending the Indonesian Teacher Training Programme from 3 - 28 September 2012 at RECSAM.

The clinic was intended to improve the English proficiency of the 60 participants from Indonesia who were mainly Science and Mathematics teachers.  These teachers participated enthusiastically in the four-week English Language clinic sessions. They enjoyed the sessions thoroughly as they immersed themselves wholeheartedly into the interactive and collaborative activities.

The participants learned by contributing ideas, doing, creating and solving various tasks and challenges. By the end of the clinic, all participants were able to use the English Language more confidently.

The final sessions held on 26 and 27 September saw the participants receiving certificates of participation as well as certificates from SEAMEO RECSAM. Each participant left with a souvenir of Penang and many fond memories.

“How was the English clinic?” we asked. “The four weeks went by too quickly,” they replied. Many echoed the same sentiment and said they had enjoyed the English Language clinic would have loved it if it was held over a longer duration.
